Biography

Claire obtained her PhD from Georgia Tech with Mark Hay where she studied how species acclimate to conditions on degraded reefs in Fiji. Prior to that, Claire completed her Master’s at Glasgow University in Scotland and spent several years working on coral reefs around the Caribbean. She worked at the Central Caribbean Marine Institute in the Cayman Islands on a grant supported by the Darwin Initiative while collaborating with the Burkepile Lab. Claire's research focused on the role herbivorous fish species play in promoting reef health and the intraspecific variability apparent in this role.
