Biography
Olivia's career started as a marine scientist at the University of Tampa, where she earned her BS in Marine Science and Biology with an Environmental Minor, using laboratory, computational, and field research to explore the effects of climate change on various marine habitats. She has worked internationally, from conducting underwater research in the Caribbean to managing a marine conservation organization in the Maldives.
Research Area
Olivia’s research is currently focused on the ecological processes and anthropogenic stressors that drive coral spatial distribution to aid restoration and management. In addition to her research interests, Olivia is passionate about diverse representation in the STEM field and hopes to aid other aspiring scientists from diverse backgrounds pursue careers in the scientific field.
