Kaitlyn received her B.S in Aquatic Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015. Before joining the Burkepile Lab in 2016 as a research scientist, she worked as a field technician for the Moorea Coral Reef Long-Term Ecological Research Lab and Partnership for the Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans Lab. She finished her M.A. in the Burkepile Lab in 2020.
Kaitlyn's research investigated the invertebrate communities that inhabit corals and how the nature and rate of their excretion contribute to nutrient cycling across a coral reef.
