Candyce Wu
Candyce is a fourth-year biology major studying the relationships between pollen production, pollen size, and climate, and is testing the evolutionary prediction that there is a trade-off between pollen production and pollen size within species. Using these data, she hopes to determine whether selection has acted on pollen traits along climatic gradients in Streptanthus and to design new predictions concerning how wild plant species may be impacted by climate change. Candyce hopes to obtain her masters degree in biology and has the ultimate goal of attending medical school.
